Authored by Joseph Csatari, official artist of the Boy Scouts of America, and his son Jeff, also a Scout and editor of Boy's Life and Men's Health magazines, the book starts off with a compelling Forward and a short but thorough history of the art and artists of the Boy Scouts of America.

It then catalogs every Rockwell Boy Scout painting, by date, with an interesting story and insight on each one as remembered by Csatari, who worked closely with Rockwell for many years. Some even have photographs of hand-sketched drafts, models and highlights of painting details. The artistry and subtle detail in these paintings is nothing short of incredible and a delight to look at.

After the Rockwell catalog of paintings, the book then catalogs all of Csatari's Boy Scout paintings. The attention to detail, lighting and shadow in Csatari's paintings is spectacular. While reviewing the book, I had to stop and look twice at a few of the paintings to make sure they were not actual photographs. And you can definitely see a touch of Rockwell's style and tradition in Csatari's work as well.
